With NUDO, Sebastian Herkner has created a line of rugs whose design is inspired by masks from Bogotá’s Gold Museum. The deep-pile rugs feature a colour-blocking look, reminiscent 1970s design. The two different rugs in this line are created in three different colourways, with each colour having a different pile height.
The town of Cajicá is located about 40 kilometres north of Bogotá, at a height of almost 2,600 metres, and is known for its tradition of wool processing. Using vertical looms, Cajicá’s artisans manufacture a most diverse range of high-end rugs using complex and time-consuming manual processes. Made from wool, the NUDO rugs are also created according to traditional Colombian craft techniques, with each individual warp and weft being interlaced manually.
